"Tails and Toes, Tongues and Teeth" (Animal Adaptations) In this hands-on animal science program, we investigate an incredible variety of amazing animal adaptations and learn how adaptations help animals survive in their diverse environments. During each 45 minute individual classroom presentation, the children participate in an interactive science lesson and are introduced to 5 different animals from around the world, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects. The minutes fly by as the children learn, ask questions, and touch the animals!
During your animal science program, the children will learn about incredible animal adaptations like the 18 inch long tongue found on Ivan the Reticulated Giraffe. This is Lorien as an Educator Guide at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park in 2002, feeding Ivan.
